In October 2003, Dipont became a Cambridge
International Associate Partner of University of
Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). This marked the beginning of a
new area of business as a direct provider of educational
services. The CIE A-level programme delivers the International
General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and GCE
Cambridge A-level programme.
Currently, Dipont administers 11 CIE Centres in some of the top
high schools in China, with more than 90 foreign teachers and
1530 full time students. It is projected that Dipont will have
2500 students by September 2009. Our plan is to operate 15 to 18
CIE Centres with 5000-6000 students in the next three years.
Centre Management Structure
Each centre is managed by a Centre Principal (CP), under the
direction of a Centre Director (CD) who is usually the Vice
Principal of the hosting school. Currently, our centre
principals are mostly British senior teachers recruited from UK
state schools, private schools and further education colleges.
The centre principal is responsible for the day-to-day teaching
programme in the centre and works closely with a Chinese senior
manager from Dipont who will provide with administrative and
logistic support.
Student Recruitment
Dipont helps schools recruit suitable students through entry
tests in mathematics, English and critical thinking.
Teacher Recruitment
Dipont has a team of about 90 foreign teachers in various CIE
international centres. It is estimated that Dipont will employ
approximately 130 teachers within the next few years.
Academic management
The Director of Studies (DoS), Academic Quality Managers and Subject
Leaders assume responsibility for academic management. The team
headed by the DoS is responsible for the teaching quality
control through regular monitoring, appraisal and follow-up
action to ensure quality.
College Counseling
Dipont has a team of more than 20 college counselors in various
centres. Our counselors are well trained and required to work in
accordance to NACAC practice.
